Shun cultism, kidnapping, Ateke urges youths

EX-militant leader, Chief Ateke Tom has appealed to youths of the region to shun cultism and kidnapping. 

Ateke-Tom Ateke-Tom Ateke who spoke in his home town, Okrika, Rivers State, when he played host to a group, Partners for Peace, P4P, said he will continue to work for enduring peace in the Niger Delta region. 


He said his foundation will partner Partners4Peace foundation to promote peace in the state. 

Ateke said some mischievous persons had tried to link him with violence, promising that he will never indulge in such act.

 The ex militant leader also advised the Federal Government to identify key stakeholders in the region to assist its drive for peace in the region. 

State Coordinator P4P, Mr Livingstone Membere, said that the visit was part of efforts by the group to partner other stakeholders to achieve lasting peace in the region.

 National Coordinator of the body, Mr Philip Kalio who also lauded Ateke for his peace moves in the region, stressed that as an ex-militant leader he had been actively involved in resolving conflicts in several communities in the region.
