Good News: See part of the renovated runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja (Photo)

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) revealed that the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, would be ready today. The Abuja airport was shut on March 8 for six weeks to enable Julius Berger rebuild the 3.6 kilometre runway. The runway was initially constructed in 1982 and was meant to last for 20 years, but had been in use for 35 years without major repairs and maintenance.  More photos after the cut.

US based Nigerian student wins the student presidential election at San Diego University

A US based Nigerian student from Imo state, Chimezie Ebiriekwe has won the Associated Student Presidential election in his university, San Diego state University. He had a total of 3,454 votes while his closest opponent, Ben Delbick had 1,189 votes. The other contestants, Chloe Sension and Kaitlyn Hart had 1,014 and 94 votes respectively.

A combined security team on Tuesday, April 4th, apprehended a contingent of violent Fulani herdsmen that have been causing mayhem in Benue State. This is coming days after suspected herdsmen invaded Ikyoawen in Moor District, Diiv and Alaba villages of Nzaav council wards, all in Turan, Kwande local councils of Benue State.
