I Will Resign if Nigeria Keeps importing Patrol by 2019 - Kachukwu

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, on Monday vowed to resign if Nigeria continues to import fuel by 2019. Mr. Kachikwu stated this during an interview on BBC World Service programme, HardTalk, anchored by Stephen Sackur.

The federal government has denied reports of an imminent increase in pump price of fuel. There had been speculations of a fresh raise, two months after the government increased the price of petrol from N86.50 to N145 a litre.

Buhari appoints Baru NNPC GMD

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Maikanti Baru as new Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. He also approved the composition of the board of the corporation, which is provided for under Section 1(2) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Act of 1997, as amended.

Buhari Sacks Kachickwu As GMD Of NNPC

President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as the group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and replaced him with Maikanti Baru. In a press statement issued today in Abuja, the president office stated that Kachikwu as the minister for State for Petroleum will now be the chairman of the Board of the NNPC.  See full statement below:
