Six suspected Boko Haram members arrested in Lagos

Lagos—Six suspected members of the Boko Haram sect were weekend apprehended by a Civilian Joint Task Force at different locations in Lagos.  The suspects, who all confessed to be indigenes of Borno State, disclosed that they fled Bama, Baga and Konduga local government council areas of Borno State, following the offensive of military operatives against insurgents in the state.

Tight security as US warns of terror attacks on Lagos hotels

Lagos City the United States on Tuesday warned of possible attacks on expatriates and foreign visitors in Lagos during the public holidays marking the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations. The US Mission in Nigeria, in a statement on its website, said terror groups planned to attack hotels and waterfronts visited by expatriates during the holiday.

Niger-Delta Avengers denies arrest of its members, dares SSS to parade suspects before reporters

Photo: Buzz Nigeria   The Niger Delta Avengers on Saturday said the announcement by the State Security Services to the effect that some of its members were arrested was laughable. In a statement posted on its website , the Avengers, notorious for its wanton destruction of oil and gas installations across the oil-rich region, said the SSS should grant reporters access to suspects in its custody to substantiate its claims that those arrested were members of the militant group.

DSS uncovers plans by IPOB members, others, to bomb Computer Village Lagos, attack worship centres, parks

The Department of State Security DSS released a statement yesterday stating that it has arrested a member of ‎the Indigenous People of Biafra, Onwudiwe Chidiebere a graduate of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering who is allegedly working with  other members of the IPOB and some foreigners to plan a bomb attack on Nigeria’s largest computer market, the Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos.‎ The statement added that two suspected members of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) linked to Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo) have also been arrested for planning the assassination of a Kaduna-based military officer and the bombing of oil and gas pipelines. The statement reads:
